How the projection works
The calculator assumes a constant monthly growth rate and compounds it forward: each month’s follower count becomes the base for the next month’s gain, exactly like compound interest. If you supply an absolute monthly gain instead of a rate, it's converted to an equivalent starting percentage — gain divided by current followers — and compounded from there.
The month-by-month table makes the compounding visible: the absolute number of new followers grows even though the percentage rate stays fixed, because each month is a percentage of a larger base than the one before it.

Why does the projection compound instead of just adding the same number each month?
A bigger audience tends to attract proportionally more new followers — more people seeing your content means more people who might follow — the same logic behind compound interest. Projecting a constant growth rate (rather than a constant number of new followers) usually tracks real accounts more closely, especially over longer stretches.
What's a realistic monthly growth rate?
It depends heavily on account size and stage — very small, newly active accounts can post double-digit percentage growth some months, while large, established accounts typically grow in the low single digits or less. There's no universal benchmark; the more useful move is tracking your own rate over the last 2–3 months and using that as your input here.
Should I use a growth rate or a monthly gain?
